The Dutch government is now advising single people to find a 'sex buddy' for the coronavirus lockdown after criticism for people in solo quarantine.
The National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) is saying single people that are seeking intimacy during the pandemic should buddy up and make an arrangement with one other person to lockdown with. However, they also advise that they should avoid physical intimacy if they suspect one of them is infected with the coronavirus.
The Netherlands have been on an "intelligent lockdown" per the government since Match 23rd. The rules say there can be up to three visitors in your home as long as they remain socially distant. The RIVM, this its new guidance says "it makes sense that as a single [person] you also want to have physical contact" during the pandemic. The guidance said, "Discuss how best to do this together. For example, meet with the same person to have physical or sexual contact (for example, a cuddle buddy or 'sex buddy'), provided you are free of illness." They add, "Make good arrangements with this person about how many other people you both see. The more people you see, the greater the chance of (spreading) the coronavirus."
Thus far, the total number of COVID-19 cases reported in the Netherlands is 43,880. While 159 people have recovered, the country has reported 5,662 deaths.
