New York Knicks, Rangers Owner James Dolan Has COVID-19

New York Knicks and Rangers owner James Dolan has become the latest figure in sports and entertainment to test positive for COVID-19.

Dolan, who also owns the Madison Square Garden company, was experiencing few symptoms of the novel coronavirus infection as of Sunday and has reportedly been in self-isolation since receiving the test results.

The 64-year-old is the first owner of a major pro sports team in the U.S. to test positive for COVID-19. Players and team staff members across several leagues have tested positive for the virus over the past two weeks.

With more than half the novel confirmed coronavirus cases in the United States, New York State is considered an epicenter for the disease. Most of the state's confirmed novel coronavirus cases are located in New York City and the area immediately surrounding it.

Hospitals in the five boroughs are nearing capacity and FEMA has retrofitted Manhattan's Javits convention center as a field hospital as officials expect the number of COVID-19 cases to peak in then next three weeks.
