The Strokes Announce Album Release Date, Unveil New Song "At The Door"

The Strokes are making good on their promise to be "unfrozen" in 2020 and release their first new studio album in seven years.

The New Abnormal will arrive on April 10, 2020, via Cult/RCA.

The legendary New York-based alternative band has also revealed the first single from the new record, "At The Door," which saw its live debut last night during the band's performance at a Bernie Sanders rally in New Hampshire.

The Strokes made news after a New Year's Eve concert at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, in which the band sprinkled in some new material and addressed their extended semi-hiatus.

Frontman Julian Casablancas joked that The Strokes had taken the 2010s "off," but had "been unfrozen" with new music and more touring in the queue for this year.

Casablancas' comments at Barclays Center, came after months of anticipation stemming from an interview guitarist Nick Valensi gave to Q104.3 New York's Out of the Box in September in which he reluctantly confirmed the new Strokes album was almost complete.

The Strokes have just a handful of U.S. live dates announced so far for 2020. You can go here for tickets and more information.
