Peter Frampton may have performed live in concert for the final time.
The legendary guitarist played the last date of his 'Finale: The Farewell Tour' on Saturday in Concord, California, and closed the show with The Beatles' "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" before taking his final bows.
By the time Frampton returned to the stage for his encore, he had already spent hits "Baby, I Love Your Way," "Do You Feel Like We Do?" and "Show Me the Way," plus some of his most beloved album cuts.
After playing an old Humble Pie favorite, "Four Day Creep," Frampton closed his live performing career with Ray Charles' "I Don't Need No Doctor," one of his longtime live staples, and an emotional interpretation of the George Harrison-penned Beatles song.

Frampton announced last winter that he was headed for retirement, due to an advancing degenerative muscle disorder called inclusion-body myositis. The guitarist told Rolling Stone in February that he's been battling the disease for several years, and he might not be able to play guitar at all by 2020.
"We decided to do a farewell tour now since I don't want to go out and not be able to play well," he said. "If I'm going to do a farewell tour, I want to play good. I want to rock it."
Frampton has not confirmed whether the Saturday concert was indeed his last, but he has not alluded to anymore planned performances.
