Patrick and Liesegang announced in the fall that they were reuniting to make a new album together. The duo launched a PledgeMusic campaign and named the project ReBus, a reference to Filter's 1995 debut, Short Bus.
But PledgeMusic recently ceased operations and appears headed for bankruptcy, so Filter is pivoting this year to instead celebrating the 20th anniversary of Title Of Record.
"reBus is noBus!!!" Patrick wrote in an update on Facebook. "Due to the PledgeMusic debacle there will be no rebus record featuring Brian Liesegang. Instead, we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of 'title of record.'"
Due to PledgeMusic's issues, artists are unable to withdraw money they raised through the platform, meaning Filter can't fund the reunion album.
Liesegang left Filter in 1997, two years before the platinum-selling Title of Record was released. Since then, Liesegang has lent his talents to luminaries like Billy Corgan, Paul McCartney and the Dalai Lama, among other projects.
