Two family films are out this weekend though “Skyscraper” isn’t for the littlest ones.
It’s Dwayne Johnson’s 3rd action blockbuster in 9 months. This time the man we used to call The Rock stars as a former FBI agent who rescues his family from a towering inferno, which they couldn’t call “The Towering Inferno,” since that was a blockbuster 44 years ago starring the late Steve McQueen and Paul Newman. Neve Campbell stars as Dwayne Johnson’s wife. One critic calls it idiotic but fun. It gets 51% on Rotten Tomatoes.
“Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation”
For the kids, with America’s favorite monster family taking a luxury monster cruise. Adam Sandler voices with Kevin James, Q friend Andy Samberg, David Spade, Selena Gomez, and the great Steve Buscemi. It’s called cute, fun and refreshingly old school with a 63% from Rotten Tomatoes.
"Shock and Awe"
Rob Reiner's new drama is out in limited release this week. It stars Woody Harrelson, Tommy Lee Jones, James Marsden, Milla Jovovich, Jessica Biel and Reiner himself.
Rob recently visited and discussed the film in depth on Sonstein Sessions. Check out the conversation below:
