Aerosmith's Joe Perry Announces Solo Shows With Famous Friends

Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry has announced three solo shows to support his latest solo album, Sweetzerland Manifesto

Perry will hit stage next month for his Joe Perry and Friends shows with a band including fellow Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford and Extreme frontman Gary Cherone.

The first show will go down at Boston's House of Blues on April 18. On April 19, the band will perform at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom in Hampton Beach, Virginia, and then on April 20, they will stop at the Borgata in Atlantic City, NJ.

Opening the first two shows will be former Boston guitarist Barry Goudreau and Joe Perry Project singer Charlie Farren

Perry celebrated the release of the new album with some Los Angeles and Las Vegas shows in January. His band for those dates included Cheap Trick's Robin Zander, The New York Dolls' David Johansen and Terry Reid.

If the guitarist's live schedule seems a bit light, it's probably because Perry has been busy writing and recording for the new Hollywood Vampires album before the supergroup embarks on its European tour this spring.

Perry is also planning to release a single with his son Roman Perry's band, Silverpalms

Perry has also reiterated in multiple recent interviews that he and Steven Tyler have discussed getting into the studio to work on a new Aerosmith album. Finding the time in their schedules to do that, however, has been challenging.

"We've been so involved with other things," Perry told Best Classic Bands. "I know Steven's been doing his solo thing. We haven't gotten down to thing specifically, but I really would like to [record] some new music. It's kind of in that chill time for Aerosmith."

The band reportedly did some recording last year.

Whitford said last year that during that band's last trip to London it spent time at a studio working on a new "very rock 'n' roll" song.
