Metallica, Bruce Springsteen, Gregg Allman, Rolling Stones Get GRAMMY Nods

The nominees for the 60th annual GRAMMY Awards have bene announced, and a number of veteran rock acts have been recognized. 

Metallica's latest album, Hardwired...to Self-Destruct, was nominated for Best Rock Album, and it's song "Atlas, Rise!" was nominated for Best Rock Song. 

Bruce Springsteen was nominated for Best Spoken Word Album for his Born to Run memoir audiobook. 

Gregg Allman is nominated for Best Americana Album for his swansong, Southern Blood, and Best Americana Roots Song for "My Only True Friend."

The Rolling Stones' Blue & Lonesome is nominated for best Traditional Blues Album.

Elsewhere, the Grateful Dead documentary, Long Strange Trip, was nominated for Best Movies. Roger Waters' latest album, Is This the Life We Really Want?, is nominated for Best Engineered Album. Yusef / Stevens' The Laughing Apple is nominated for Best Folk Album.
