Come On! Really! For Heavy Beer Time They Invent Beer From Toilet Water!

How about a cold one? New beer brand making a name for itself for being made from toilet water?

July 4th is one of the biggest beer-drinking days of the year, and few could argue the appeal of popping open a cold one on the holiday -- but would you fancy a can of the stuff made from toilet water?

That's precisely what a Singaporean company called New Brew is doing. According to Lifestyle Asia, the company's main source for its new company is the wastewater from local residents that has been treated.

It might be cold comfort to know that it is urine-only wastewater.  Perhaps not surprisingly, the company glosses over that detail, instead touting in its ad copy that

New Brew's main ingredient is Singapore's own brand of "ultra-high grade recycled water"

It is a little more descriptive with the other ingredients, including, "German barley malts, aromatic Citra and Calypso hops, as well as kveik, a highly-sought-after strain of farm-house yeast from Norway."

The end result, New Brew Tropical Blonde Ale, is described as, a highly quaffable beer suitable for Singapore’s tropical climate, with a smooth, toasted honey-like aftertaste.

I guess I'll take their word for it. Even though I'm theoretically "The only DJ with a license to party!" I think I may not be partying with this one.
