Take Me To The Movies: Terminator: Dark Fate

"Terminator: Dark Fate"

Directed by Tim Miller ("Deadpool") with James Cameron as one of the film’s main producers, "Terminator: Dark Fate" is the sixth installment in the Terminator Franchise and is intended to be the direct sequel to "The Terminator" (1984) and "Terminator 2: Judgement Day" (1991). However it still seems to me that it’s an alternate timeline splitting from the first two films. You’ll be confused right at the beginning- don't be late or you’ll be confused for the rest of the film.

My favorite part is Linda Hamilton’s entrance as "Sarah Connor." That sequence alone was great. As for the action, there's great fight scenes throughout. We get a different style of villain "Terminator" which builds on Robert Patrick’s classic turn as the liquid metal "T-1000" from "T2."

Arnold is, well Arnold. His unintentionally robotic deadpan comments still get a lot of laughs in this one.

The newcomers to the franchise are all solid. The augmented human played by Canadian Mackenzie Davis acts well and excels in her fights scenes. Columbian TV star Natalia Reyes makes her lead action debut and her experience pays off. You’ll recognize the new evil Terminator as TV's new "Ghostrider," Gabriel Luna.

The story is thin but it has couple of interesting twists...but really you're going for action. It's not a knockout return to form for the franchise, but it's fun.
