Take Me To The Movies: John Wick: Chapter 3, A Dog's Journey

“John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum”

Keanu Reeves returns as “John Wick,” with Halle Berry, Laurence Fishburne and Asia Kate Dillon (my fave character from “Billions”) co-starring. Many are saying this 3rd entry is the best of the franchise, which started back in 2014. An army of bounty hunters are after a $14 million prize to bring in super assassin Wick. It’s the most action-packed and outrageously violent of the series…so far. It scores 88% on Rotten Tomatoes.

“A Dog’s Journey”

This picks up where “A Dog’s Purpose” ended 3 years ago with “Bailey” (voiced by Josh Gad) going through more multiple dog lives. One critic says it’s hackneyed, saccharine, clichéd, weepy and formulaic but it’s a must-see for dog lovers. I couldn’t get Maria Milito to see it for me because just like with “A Dog’s Purpose” in 2016, she can’t watch Bailey die over and over again. It scores a 54% on Rotten Tomatoes.

“Asbury Park: Riot, Redemption, Rock ‘n Roll”

We’re still giving away tickets for our special screening this Tuesday night (5/21) at The Showroom in Asbury Park. It’s a must-see history lesson both for Asbury Park and rock music, especially the Jersey Shore sound. Bruce Springsteen, Little Steven Van Zandt and Southside Johnny are prominently featured. Sponsored by Jersey Mike’s, this is a labor of love created & directed by Tom Jones, who joins me on the board of Asbury Park Music & Film Festival, where the doc debuted. After seeing this, you will understand why so many of us are so passionate about the re-birth & future of Asbury Park. It is and has always been a diamond in the rough.
