Damon Albarn chatted with Jonathan Clarke about his many projects, including his new album and and the inspiration behind it.

Damon Albarn teamed up with producer, Richard Russell, to create his new album called Everyday Robots. As a solo album, it is completely autobiographical and may be the most personal record for him lyrically. Since he is naturally a collaborator, Albarn claims that making this solo album completely honest was somewhat difficult.

One track on the new album was inspired by insane traffic jams on the outskirts of Los Angeles. The song represents our technology obsessed culture and people not being in the moment.

Albarn calls his band The Heavy Seas and is made up of a musicians he has worked with for years, as well as musicians he has met on Africa Express trips, an organization he started about 10 years ago that joins African countries with America and Europe.
