Some cool events happening this weekend in the city:

Lovers of vinyl music, and that should be all of us, I Love Vinyl is celebrating their 5th Anniversary with a cruise leaving from Pier 83 at 6pm on Saturday. It’s a sunset cruise, so dance the night away while listening to Dance The Night Away or Dancing In The Streets. Mp3philes need not apply…

Celebrate Chinese and Jewish cultures with the 14th annual Egg Rolls and Egg Creams Festival on the Lower East Side. All day Sunday. Learn some Yiddish and Chinese, eat food, listen to music, and play Majongg. Fun and free for all.

And an event that no one is able to attend, because it’s just too popular, the Big Apple Block Party at Madison Square Park is happening on Saturday and Sunday. It’s a 2 block long BBQ festival on Madison Ave, from 23rd Street to 25th. Meet the best in BBQ from all over the country, and eat some grilled meat!

In Homdel, they have the 37th annual Greek Festival, which kicked off last night and runs through Sunday. And Point Pleasant has Summerfest going on Saturday. So if you’re feeling the shore, these might be worth checking out.

And at the Long Island Children’s Museum in Garden City, there’s an Alice In Wonderland exhibit that really makes me want to hear some Jefferson Airplane right now!
