Now I know lots of people travel on Memorial Day weekend. Triple A says 36 million of you in fact. But for those of you who are staying local, here are some events:

Now you know I don’t cook. Well not in the traditional sense. But I can microwave a Hungry Man TV dinner like no one else. So maybe I should take up a cooking class this weekend. Lo and behold here’s one: Sex On The Table – A NYC Aphrodisiac Cooking Class. It’s a class where they teach you how to pair dishes with aphrodisiacs. And it’s BYOB. Tomorrow at 7pm.

But the big event is tomorrow. It takes place at 3pm in Long Branch on top of the windmill at Windmill Hot Dogs. A concert with South Side Johnny kicks off their “Ten-thousand hot dogs feeds the hungry” campaign. Shelli is the honorary chair.

All this weekend at Republic Airport in Farmingdale, they’re having the Legends of Airport weekend to celebrate Memorial Day with flight simulators and a flight experience. And veterans get a discount on admission.

And while Fleet Week fills the streets of New York City with seamen and women, at the Intrepid lots is going on. The USO is doing a show. Rock of Ages will have a performance. And there will be a search and rescue demonstration by the coast guard. Plus they are doing a movie night tomorrow on the deck. What movie? Well, Top Gun of course!

So stay safe on the roads if you’re traveling. And don’t forget to stock up on fireworks for the 4th. They probably won’t be looking for that now at the Pennsylvania border. But come late June…
