Vive La France Libre! Here in the city, tout le monde has Bastille Day fever! Just around the corner from Q1043, West Broadway will be shut down on Friday for Cercle Rouge’s La Fête Nationale celebration. Traditional French street foods, can-can dancers, music, and a Pétanque tournament. Then on Sunday, the party moves to the Upper East Side on East 60th street.

It’s also French restaurant week, with specials at many of the city’s French restaurants.

At Revolutions Bar and Music Hall in Amityville, they’re hosting a Battle Of The Bands on Sunday. A bunch of local bands are getting a 30 minute set and a chance to compete against some fellow Long Island local acts. First and second place bands are going to get free studio time, and a paid out of town gig.

On Saturday in Jersey City, Lucky 7’s is throwing a BBQ Block Party. Lots of beers, bands, and BBQ.

Down the shore, Beach Haven is having their Beachfest. Bradley Beach is having Lobsterfest. And Toms River has Celtic Fest.
