Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington says his band broke by being different, they weren't going to stop with their new single, "Heavy."
Speaking for the band, Chester tells Jonathan Clarke on Q104.3's "Out of the Box" that a huge part of what broke the band initially was its fusion of industrial metal and alternative rock with rap music. A novel concept at the time, that's become standard now. Seven albums into their career, they weren't about to stop trying new things.
Chester says the band has re-invented itself with every new album. Continuing to replicate the sound of Linkin Park's first album, Hybrid Theory, over and over again would be disingenuous and contrary to the the band's initial mission.
Chester talks about his life on and off stage, the creative concept behind Linkin Park, the new single, working with Stone Temple Pilots and much more!
