It wasn't the new U2 song some fans may have been looking for, but Bono did debut a new song this week. During Wednesday's Forbes 400 Philanthropy Summit, he serenaded Warren Buffett with his own take on "Home on the Range."
According to Forbes.com, Bono joked that his performance was the "Irish version of the Kansas state anthem." The Irish rocker was at the New York event to give Buffett the inaugural Forbes 400 Lifetime Achievement Award for Philanthropy. The Berkshire Hathaway CEO has pledged to give away 99% of his fortune, which amounts to some 53 billion dollars and counting.
Bono first met Buffett when he approached the 82-year-old billionaire looking for advice on starting up his AIDS campaign, and the two men have remained close as Bono continues his public advocacy work through his ONE campaign.
