There was much controversy surrounding Metallica's headlining set at England's legendary Glastonbury Festival this past weekend. First, there was the idea that for the first time, a mainstream hard rock band would be headlining - never mind the fact that they were American.
Then there was the recent outrage over James Hetfield lending his talents to a documentary about a bear hunt in which he participated. Both were addressed on Saturday night, as only Metallica could.
First, they commissioned music/film veteran Julien Temple to direct an intro video that "took the piss" out of the hunting controversy, titled "Glastallica." Then they proceeded to put on a flawless 14-song set that had even the most jaded attendees singing their praises.
Bummed you missed it? You can watch it ALL! See the clips below of their classic "Creeping Death," plus "Glastallic"a and and the full set, as captured by the fine folks at BBC.
