A small plane crashed just a mile from an airport at around 8:15 Friday morning and resulted in the death of the plane's pilot.
The pilot's name was Richard Rockefeller and he was from Maine.
There was dense fog and unfavorable weather conditions during the time of the crash, but it is unknown if this was the cause or not. The plane went down only moments after takeoff in Harrison, a town in Westchester County.
The pilot was reportedly the only person on board.
