A 28-year-old man has been identified and taken into custody as the main suspect for the recent string of hammer attacks throughout the city, PIX11 reports.

Innocent people were being attacked and robbed by being hit over the head with a hammer, usually while distracted.

Last week, a man was attacked in Brooklyn at the Fulton Street and Rockaway Avenue subway station while he was buying a Metro Card. The robber got away with the victim's money.

Police believe the suspect is linked with two other vicious hammer-attack robberies from earlier in the year; one at the same Brooklyn subway stop and another in Queens.
