The controversy over the Moreland Commission doesn’t seem to be hurting Governor Cuomo’s poll numbers all that much.

A new Marist poll shows his numbers have dipped a bit, but he’s still ahead of Republican Rob Astorino by a 54 to 23 margin.  Cuomo’s lead has shrunk by 4 percent, amid reports the governor’s staff interfered with a public corruption investigation.

But while Cuomo’s favorability rating dropped to 53 percent, Astorino has not seen a surge in supporters.  The poll shows 53 percent of voters don’t know who Astorino is, or don’t have an opinion on him.

"Cuomo's running around the track by himself," Pollster Lee Miringoff told the Wall Street Journal. "He slipped, and there are some bruises." But "Astorino is on a treadmill—running hard and not getting anywhere."
