The two American flags that were swiped from the Brooklyn Bridge could soon be returned.
The Daily News reports the German Embassy is working to acquire them and then they’ll be shipped back to New York.
It was on July 22nd that the American flags were taken down and replaced with two white flags.
A pair of German artists claimed responsibility, saying they were honoring the death of Brooklyn Bridge designer John Roebling.
A source says it’s still unclear whether the two men will be arrested.
The incident was an embarrassment for the NYPD. No one realized the swap happened until the sun came up and police were alerted.
